Analyzing your VisualDNA Shop's customers
What is VisualDNA Analytics?
For every VisualDNA Shop you create in the Professional Edition, you will have access to VisualDNA Analytics to allow you to get to know your users better. VisualDNA Analytics records how many impressions, starts, product clicks and completes your VisualDNA Shop has received, as well as the quiz completions and product clicks by different customer types and a list of top products and quiz images for that particular shop. It also captures and summarises demographic data for your site, so that you can see which products are performing best in your shop.
How can my shop benefit from VisualDNA Analytics?
VisualDNA Analytics provides you with powerful insight into the kinds of people that visit your site. This means you can tailor your content to be even more relevant to these users. Based on Analytics data, you can make modifications to your VisualDNA Shop inventory and adjust which products you allocate to which customer type, thus improving the shop's performance.
How do I use VisualDNA Analytics?
Analytics data for your VisualDNA Shop is presented on the Analytics tab of your Professional Edition account. From here, you can navigate between the Analytics data for your various shops using the menu list on the left of the page. You can return to your Analytics page at any point when you are signed in, simply by clicking the Analytics tab in the navigation menu. The data is clearly displayed here to make it easy for you to understand your users and to maximise your shop's potential and performance.
What data does VisualDNA Analytics present?
The Analytics page displays easily understandable and clearly presented Analytics data for the following factors:
Impressions
The number of views of your VisualDNA Shop. In other words, an impression is counted each time your shop is shown to a user on your blog page.
Starts
The number of users who click to start the quiz in your VisualDNA Shop but do not necessarily complete it.
Product Clicks
The total number of products which have been clicked in your VisualDNA Shop. You can also view this data for our specific customer types.
Completes
The number of people who have taken and finished the VisualDNA quiz in your shop. You can also view this data for our specific customer types.
Top Products
The products in your shop which are most clicked.
Image Popularity
The quiz images for each question in your shop, ranked according to which are most clicked. This data can help you best assign products using our Image Selector.
Demographics
The social statistics of the people that interact with your VisualDNA Shop. You can see your shop's data in terms of its demographics on your Analytics page, where it is displayed in histograms for age and gender, and a map to show the geography of your users. You can zoom in and scroll around this map to view your shop's demographics in even clearer detail.
What is CTR?
CTR stands for click-through rate, which is a way of measuring how effective VisualDNA Shops are at generating traffic. A click-through rate refers to the number of product clicks in your VisualDNA Shop divided by the quiz completes, and is expressed as a percentage.
What time period does Analytics data cover?
You can choose from how far back you would like your VisualDNA Analytics data to measure: last week, last month or since your shop started. Simply select one of these options from the 'Time Period' drop-down menu on your Analytics page. There will be a delay of a couple of hours between a visitor using your shop and the data appearing on your Analytics page while this data is being processed.
